New dogs follow the pack. With the resident dog in the yard, a newcomer can look boundary-trained while really just shadowing their friend, and the gap shows up the first time they’re out there alone. Individual sessions first, pack time after.

Individual boundary flag sessions
The new dog learns the flags and the warning tone one-on-one, with the resident dog inside, so there are no shortcuts borrowed from a packmate. We set that up with you on the visit; the daily sessions after it are yours to run.

Before anything else changes, the new dog has to show they turn back from the boundary with no other dog to cue off.

What adding a dog to an invisible fence costs.
Adding a dog is not a second installation. You need a compatible receiver collar, and the new dog needs their own training. [VERIFY before launch: whether the one-year guarantee covers training for a dog added later. GUAR-01 says “up to one year after installation” without scoping a second dog, so the page must not promise it, and what a training visit costs past the first year.] The exact number depends on which receiver is compatible with your transmitter, so ask and we’ll quote it straight before we schedule anything.

If another company installed your fence, we can often still add a dog. Some transmitters from the brands below accept added receivers directly; others make more sense to modernize first. DogWatch® is on that list and is also the brand we install ourselves. Compatibility varies by brand and generation, so we check before quoting. If an upgrade is the cheaper path, we’ll say so.

Can several dogs use the same system?
Yes. Each dog wears their own receiver collar, and we adjust the settings per dog. Adding a dog later is straightforward.
How does boundary training work?
Training is progressive: your dog first learns where the boundary is using flags and the warning tone, then learns to turn back from it, then earns off-leash freedom in stages. We run the first session with you on installation day and hand over all the training materials, then you run the short daily sessions. Most dogs are trained within about seven days. If you hit trouble in the first year, the one-year dog containment guarantee means we come back out and help with the training at no charge.
How long does invisible fence training take?
Most dogs are trained within about seven days. Some move faster and some need longer. Your dog’s age, temperament and history set the pace, and rushing it undoes the work. We run the first session with you on installation day and leave you all the training materials for the short daily sessions after that.
How old should a dog be before training?
Most dogs can start boundary training around 4 to 6 months, once they know basic commands and have the attention span for short sessions. We'll assess your puppy honestly rather than rushing it.
What does the one-year dog containment guarantee cover?
It covers the training. For one year after your installation, if you’re having trouble getting your dog reliable on the boundary, we come back out and do that training with you at no charge. It isn’t a promise that your dog cannot get out. A boundary is a trained behaviour, not a wall, and it isn’t a refund. It’s the professional help, free, for the whole first year.
