The wire does not care whose badge is on the box.
Most calls we get about a PetSafe system are breaks in the buried wire, and buried wire is buried wire. A break is found the same way on any brand: we walk the loop with a locator until the signal stops, dig a small hole, splice it properly and seal it.
That is why we do not need to have installed your system to fix it.
What we check on a PetSafe system
The buried loop
A break anywhere in the loop takes the whole boundary down. We locate it rather than guess, and we show you where it was.
The transmitter
Power, loop continuity and the alarm it is trying to give you. Surge damage after a storm is common and is not always obvious.
The collar
Contact, fit and whether the receiver is still responding at the boundary. A collar that has stopped working is often mistaken for a dead fence.
The boundary itself
Whether the layout still matches how you use the yard. Landscaping, a new drive or a second dog all change what the loop needs to do.
Where we will tell you no
Wire and splices are universal. Collars and transmitters are not. Those are made by PetSafe and we do not stock another manufacturer’s parts. If yours needs a part we cannot get, we will say so on the visit rather than order something and hope.
When that happens the options are usually to source the part through PetSafe, or to replace the powered equipment with the Superior Dog Fence installs and keep the wire you already have in the ground. We will lay out both, including what each one costs, before you decide.
