Plain language about what we collect through this site and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you use one of our forms, we collect what you type in: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, and details about your dog, your property, and any existing fence system. The satellite planner asks for a street address and email to find your yard. If you call, text, or email us, we keep the contact information and the substance of the conversation so we can follow up.
The satellite fence planner
When you select “Find my yard,” we send the address to Google’s geocoding service to locate the property, or to the U.S. Census geocoder if Google is unavailable. Your browser then loads Google’s satellite map centred on that location, so Google receives the map position and your IP address and handles them under its own privacy policy. If Google’s map cannot load, we show public aerial imagery from USGS instead. When an address is found, we save it together with your email in Basin as a partial planner request, even if you do not finish a quote request. Your email is not sent to the geocoder or to Google. We may mail information about our dog fence services to that address. This policy is linked below the planner map and in the website footer.
An address lookup is not a quote request and does not count as a Google Ads enquiry conversion. If you later submit a quote request in the same browser session, we link it to the planner record when available. You can ask us to delete your planner details or stop postal follow-up using the contact details below. Trying the sample yard does not save an address.
When you send a quote request from the planner, we include the length of the boundary you drew and its shape (the position of each corner on the map, with the map’s centre point) so we can plan your layout. Drawing a boundary without sending a request does not save it, and a boundary drawn on the sample yard is not sent.
What your browser tells us
Submitting a form or looking up a yard also records visit information. From the connection itself: your IP address, the city and region that address is registered to, and which device, browser, operating system and language you used. From the visit: the page you submitted from, the page you first arrived on, and the site or search that sent you here. If you arrived from one of our ads, we keep the identifier the ad platform attached to that click, which is how we tell which advertising actually produces work rather than clicks. We do not use browser fingerprinting. There is no canvas, audio or font probe on this site, and nothing here is designed to recognise you across other people’s websites.
Who else handles it
Basin screens and records form submissions so we can respond to your enquiry. Customer enquiries are not stored in Sanity, which is used for website content. When a quote, callback, contact, or repair request is confirmed, we also tell Google Ads that an enquiry happened. If you gave an email address or phone number, Google’s tag sends a scrambled version of it, not the address or number itself, so Google can match the enquiry to the ad click that led to it. Google Analytics receives the same event without your contact details.
How we use it
We use enquiry information to respond to your estimate or repair request and do the work you ask us to do. That means preparing guidance, scheduling, performing installations and repairs, and following up on them. If you told us to text, we text; if you told us to call, we call. We also use saved planner addresses for the postal follow-up described above.
What we don't do
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand your request to third-party lead brokers. Your details go to the local team responsible for your system. That’s the point of contacting us directly.
